Alterations & Warranty Info
Alterations - FDA Guidelines
Please understand, we can alter the JoVi liners; however, to maintain FDA's Good Manufacturing Practices we must follow strict medical hygiene in every step of our production, including any alterations.
Even if a JoVi product has only been worn one day, it MUST be washed in a germicidal soap and packaged for return to us in a clean plastic enclosure.
Alterations
It is anticipated a lymphedema patient undergoing decongestive lymphedema therapy will have significant reductions in swelling during the course of their treatment. If a patient is engaged in a conscientious self-management program using a JoViPak®, their reductions are likely to continue and alterations for their JoVi may be necessary.
Alterations may also be requested as a patient's needs change; e.g. reducing a full leg liner to a half-leg liner, or a full hand and arm liner to a wrist to axilla liner. Whatever the reason, we are happy to accommodate your alteration requirements. We have highly skilled professional seamstresses who can tackle just about any request.
Alterations are billed out by the hour. Call for price quotes, as often an alteration may take more time than remaking the product. If the reduction is significant, it may require remeasuring by the therapist.
Before returning a garment for reduction alterations -- have the patient put it on. Pinch in the excess, equally on BOTH sides of the seam, until it is snug against their skin. Then mark with a felt tip pen or seamstress chalk. Be sure to mark the excess down the entire length of the garment.
If you have new measurements for your patient, please send them along with the garment.
